Spring is here! (At least in the fashion world it is!)

The great thing I've noticed about trends for Spring 2009 is that some of the key pieces from Spring 2008 are being repeated except with a little twist to them. For example, romantic tops and dresses will still be all the rage. Right now, FreePeople.com has GREAT trends! You can also find some of their pieces at department stores like Nordstrom. I've also seen A TON of Ed Hardy tees and hoodies for cool nights. Flats are still a must.....but this time around pair them with boyfriend jeans rolled up! I feel like it's going to be a little bit of everything this spring which is perfect for the times! So feel free to "re-wear".......more to come soon!

Fall/Winter Must Haves!

Here are my Must Haves for Fall/Winter so far:

1. Opaque tights.....plain or lacy or patterned!
2. Legwarmers to wear over the tights or under boots!
3. Big,cozy knits over skinny jeans or liquid leggings!
4. Scarves,scarves,scarves!
5. Towering platforms and knee-high riding boots!

Go out and get the latest must haves now though if you haven't already!

A red alligator skin envelope clutch by MaxMara......and my favorite - a pair of black Uggs! There are so many boots to choose from this season but these are a staple! (I also have a chestnut pair with fur!) Next on my wishlist is a tiered dress and fringe boots! There's too much to choose from!

The Hills Season 2 and 3 on DVD!

"The Hills" Season 2 and 3 are some DVD purchases I just made...yes sometimes the plots are lame and the "acting" can get old...but if you're into fashion this show definitely has that! Since it's filmed in L.A. viewers can get the upcoming looks and trends before others as well! Plus, if you're a girl it's just a fun show to watch.

Chanel's Lip Gloss in BonBon is my new favorite item for this week! It can be worn alone or over other colors to create a shimmery effect! It runs about $32 dollars but it's worth it!

Lauren Conrad's clothing line

I haven't been a big fan of her clothing line so far - it was very bland and way overpriced. But this new dress from her line looks likes she's learning the ropes! I would love to buy a dress like this and it looks so much better on her than those plain dresses!

Gold Accessories!

Paris Hilton has this summer fad down perfectly! I felt a little awkward in gold jewelry at first, but now I have tons of gold jewelry, a gold clutch, and gold kitten heels (and of course the Marc Jacobs ring shown below)! The yellow brings out the gold beautifully as well if you're having trouble picking a color for the gold to go with. That's hot!

I bought this ring from Sephora and I love it! I want to go out and get the spray perfume now! This ring opens up with the solid version Marc Jacob's scent "Daisy" in it so you can put it on anywhere! It looks great as an accessory with other gold jewelry! (And it smells great...limited edition though!)

I also got this at the beginning of the summer....at the website they have tons of other kinds but I am in love with it! I can wear it when it gets colder towards the end of summer and fall! They're handpainted as well, which makes me always feel extra special!

Trouble finding Maxi dresses, ladies?

So I had a really hard time finding a maxi dress at the beginning of the season and I started looking online instead of stores. I've found maxi dresses all at these web sites...they might be on sale now too!

1. VictoriasSecret.com (click on "dress shop" and then "maxi")
2. freepeople.com
3. eBay (just enter maxi dresses...they have a TON! and they really are cute/stylish!
4. Bebe at Keystone at the Crossing (or bebe.com) has some but they're more fancy and a bit more pricey
5. Pitaya in Broad Ripple,IN has a TON for really cheap but they're really cute too! (or pitayaonline.com)

My summer must haves!

All the great nail polishes: my faves in the dark colors are OPI's Russian Navy and OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark. They look great with all skin tones...the best way to wear them is with short,square nails. My other nail polishes are Essie's summer colors like Secret Stash and Movers N Shakers! You can find OPI and Essie at Ulta and Trade Secret - or their websites! These look great with those trendy polka-dot bathing suits or monokinis! You know what else they look great with? Gladiator sandals!

My other summer must have...I've bought 5 already....are the maxi dresses! They're so comfy and cool on a hot summer night. You can find them almost anywhere. I even found a really hot one I spotted in US Weekly magazine and got in on eBay for $30 dollars! For hair when wearing maxi dresses...I recommend the trendy French braid at the front of the hair. Or even a loose one with all of your hair pulled back. And don't forget those Jackie O. sunglasses or my personal fave...Aviators!!!! If you guys have any questions too let me hear them!

Gladiator Sandals

So I love the gladiator sandal look...I just bought a brown pair with gold trim...but I have yet to wear them. Why you ask? I find that when you wear things around my part of town that are so popular in NYC and L.A. - you get a lot of weird looks or even made fun of for wearing them! So I decided on white bermuda shorts, a cute brown bubble top from Bebe (one of my fave stores here in Indy), and I'm gonna rock those gladiator sandals!!! I've given up caring what other people think. I want to know your thoughts too!
